Split the rent, not the friendship.
Halves keeps a running tab for your flat: rent, groceries, the electricity bill, the gas cylinder. Everyone can see who owes what, and settling up is one UPI tap.
Free for flats of up to six. No ads, ever.
Three taps from “who paid for that?” to “we’re square.”
-
Add it while you’re still at the till
Amount, who paid, done. Snap the bill if you like. Halves remembers that rent is always ₹48,000 on the 1st and adds it for you.
-
Split it the way your flat actually works
Equally, by room size, by shares, or item by item when someone doesn’t drink and isn’t paying for your beer.
-
Settle up in one go
Halves works out the fewest payments to clear everything, then opens your UPI app with the amount filled in.
Try a split.
This is the same splitting logic as the app: amounts are worked out to the paisa, and any leftover paisa go to whoever paid, so totals always match.
Made for how flats here actually share money.
- UPI built in. Payments open in GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or BHIM with the amount and note filled in.
- Works without signal. Add expenses in the lift; they sync when you’re back online.
- Repeats itself. Rent, maid, wifi and the society maintenance get added on the right day.
- In your language. English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
- Leaving the flat? Halves settles your share and hands your seat to the new flatmate.
- Your money stays yours. Halves never holds funds. Payments go straight between you.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes, for flats and groups of up to six. Halves Plus is ₹49 a month per group for bigger groups, trips with multiple currencies and exporting to a spreadsheet.
Does everyone need the app?
No. Friends without it get a link that shows their balance and lets them pay by UPI.
What happens to my data?
Expenses are stored encrypted in India. You can export or delete everything from Settings at any time.
Which phones does it run on?
Android 8 and newer, and iPhones on iOS 15 and newer. It’s one Flutter app, so both get every feature on the same day.
